The primary objective of this research is to investigate the influence of digital media on consumer perceptions and behavior related to food waste. As digital media platforms became an integral part of the daily life for many individuals, understanding how they can be leveraged to foster sustainable consumer choices and reduce food waste is critical. By focusing on the mechanisms by which digital media shapes consumer behavior, choices and values, this research can work on developing effective interventions and communication strategies to promote sustainable choices to reduce food waste and empower businesses, policymakers, and non-profit organizations to harness the potential of social and digital media as a whole. Ultimately, addressing the issue of food waste through social and digital media interventions contributes valuable insights to reduce the environmental, economic, and ethical consequences of food waste in the digital age.
