Green Human Resource Management (GHRM) plays an increasingly important role in enhancing risk management practices. A case in point are the oil projects in Iran. By promoting environmentally responsible behaviours among employees, GHRM helps reduce hazards that stem from pollution, waste, and unsafe resource handling. In oil projects—where environmental risks and safety concerns are inherently high—green training and awareness
programmes can significantly strengthen a company’s ability to prevent ecological damage and regulatory violations. Integrating GHRM into project planning also supports better compliance with international environmental standards, which is crucial for Iran’s oil sector in maintaining global competitiveness. Moreover, environmentally focused recruitment and
performance evaluations encourage a workforce that is more committed to sustainable practices. This, in turn, reduces the likelihood of accidents or costly environmental incidents during project execution. Ultimately, combining GHRM with traditional risk management creates a more resilient project environment that prioritizes safety, sustainability, and longterm value creation.
