One of the biggest challenges of mankind is the global warming we are facing right now and there could be dramatic consequences in the very near future. The reason is the excessive carbon dioxide emission in the last decades in all industrial and agricultural branches. For going back to the sustainable economy, it is very urgent to minimize the CO2 emissions in all areas, but especially in the ones contribute with a high proportion of emission like building sector. The global building sector is responsible for about 40% of carbon emission including the embedded energy of building materials and also the operational energy caused carbon emission. According to the International Energy Agency the ratio between these two types of emission is one to two which means the operational energy cause double so much carbon dioxide emission as that of the embedded energy generated. The majority of the operational energy is the energy amount used for heating and cooling depending on the geographical region, however there are wide zones where both might be needed.
