Rural restructuring processes profoundly impact our rural communities and landscapes, whether they are evolving with an adaptive society or grappling with the challenges of the 21st century. Rural restructuring encompasses differentiation processes in rural areas, primarily characterized by shifts in spatial practices, changes in economic activities, and the reorganization of rural images and concepts. These transformations define 21st-century rural areas as spaces marked by societal challenges, a decline in agricultural participation, and the emergence of new rural representations. A particular scenario within the restructuring processes occurs when rural landscapes undergo industrial changes and intensive land utilization. In the context of such economic activities, restructuring processes can accelerate rapidly. Industrial production, for instance, not only increases investments, capital, and overall financial resources but also significantly impacts the lives of rural inhabitants. This impact manifests through heightened environmental exposure, contamination risks, and negative social effects such as resource depletion. These challenges prompt important questions: How can rural societies adapt to such distinctive spatial changes? Are rural areas capable of reducing their vulnerability and devising sustainable, progressive solutions within an industrial environment? Are there strategies that can help address the challenges of a restructuring rural society in industrial areas?
