Farm-to-Table Tourism as a Driver of Regional Economic Development
témakiírás leírása
The PhD research project shall examine the growing influence of farm-to-table tourism - spanning locally sourced food, wine, craft beer, and other regional beverages - as a catalyst for sustainable regional economic development. As tourism trends shift toward more authentic, eco-conscious, and community-oriented experiences, this emerging sector presents significant opportunities for enhancing local economies while preserving agricultural traditions and cultural identity. The project will explore how farm-to-table initiatives contribute to economic growth, community engagement, environmental sustainability, and the strengthening of local supply chains. The candidate will draw on a combination of empirical investigation and qualitative insight to understand the perspectives of key stakeholders and the dynamics of successful farm-to-table models. Comparative exploration of regions where such initiatives are well established will help identify success factors, challenges, and pathways for innovation. The overarching goal is to develop a robust framework and policy recommendations to support the integration and scaling of farm-to-table tourism within regional development strategies.
