témakiírás leírása
Gerontosensitive architecture is a spatial and interior design approach that reflects on the unique spatial perception, cognitive, physical, and social needs of older adults, and addresses them in an integrated way. The focus of the research is on inclusive and empathetic spatial strategies developed in response to global demographic ageing, particularly concerning healthcare facilities, social institutions, and residential environments. The aim is to formulate design methodology guidelines that support safe navigation, spatial awareness, and cognitive functions within the built environment. The research intends to establish new design principles and practical methods based on international comparative analysis, creating a bridge between the field of gerontology, architectural and interior design innovation, and the requirements of the social and healthcare sectors. The guidelines and strategies developed through the gerontosensitive approach may contribute to the creation of inclusive, aesthetically refined, and functionally adaptable environments that enhance the quality of life for the ageing population.
