This research investigates the shear buckling behavior and resistance mechanisms of slender webs in steel and composite girders under various loading and boundary conditions. The study aims to develop advanced analytical and numerical models to accurately predict critical shear buckling loads, post-buckling strength, and interaction effects with bending and axial stresses. Experimental testing was conducted to validate finite element models and assess the influence of geometric imperfections, residual stresses, and material nonlinearity. The outcomes are expected to contribute to improved design formulations and enhanced safety and efficiency in the next generation of slender-web structural systems.
