The project “Intermolecular Interactions in Cyclodextrin-Based Host-Guest Systems” aims to investigate the molecular recognition mechanisms that underlie the remarkable versatility of cyclodextrins, which are widely applied in the pharmaceutical, food, and cosmetic industries. Owing to their unique cavity structure, cyclodextrins play a prominent role in the encapsulation of drugs and natural products, enhancing their solubility, stability, and bioavailability. Advanced NMR spectroscopy will be employed to obtain detailed molecular-level insights into these supramolecular complexes. In this research, special emphasis will be placed on exploring the antidotal effects of cyclodextrins, focusing on their potential to bind and neutralize toxic compounds through selective host-guest interactions.
