By 2050, sub-Saharan Africa''s population is expected to have doubled. The majority agrees that smallholder production must rise to enhance food and nutrition security outcomes and meet the Millennium Development Goals. Without degrading natural resources, food security would be improved by a move toward sustainable farming systems. Smallholder farmers are particularly vulnerable to the severe effects of climate change because of their heavy reliance on rain-fed agriculture combined with high rates of poverty, and inadequate infrastructure. Other underlying socioeconomic and cultural issues, such as labor availability, social norms, and land access, may also influence the decision about short-term vs long-term adoption practices.
Even with the emphasis on sustainable agriculture worldwide, little is known about the socio-economic factors impacting its uptake. The objective of the proposed topic is to investigate the relationship between community involvement, knowledge transfer, and policy impact in the chosen sub-Saharan African country. The current issue is identifying the elements that support or obstruct the general adoption of sustainable agricultural methods while accounting for various communities'' distinct geographic, sociocultural, and economic circumstances. The research aims to provide insights for customized interventions that support sustainable agriculture by dissecting the intricate relationships between community engagement, knowledge transfer methods'' efficiency, and the effects of current policies.
