The Friction-Assisted Lateral Extrusion Process (FALEP) is a severe plastic deformation (SPD) technique for producing metal sheets from bulk metal in one single deformation step at room temperature. The FALEP SPD process is a very promising candidate for industrial applications. The candidate will perform experiments on bulk metals on the existing experimental setup at the
The candidate will produce metal sheets by the FALEP process using equipment at the University of Miskolc and will investigate the recrystallization process of these sheets. Candidate will conduct comparative analyses on how different alloys'' thermal stability and recrystallization processes can be controlled. The candidate will perform a full material and structural analysis (XRD-residual stress, texture, SEM-EBSD-texture, grain size, DSC-recrystallization, tensile test- strength and ductility) on the deformed and heat-treated samples.
