The aim of the research is to develop new PVD coatings for machining tools. The main direction of the research is AlCrBN as a top coating according to the state of the art (FeinAl-Plus, Altensa). The research will use state of the art coating deposition methods (arc, spray, hybrid). The basic components are Al, Cr, B. The deposition of the new coatings will be carried out by statistical design at our partner Pannon Plattit. During the research work the composition of the coatings will be changed by using new materials such as Ti, Si, V, Ta. The task of the candidate is to investigate the influence of the compositions on the physical parameters (hardness, residual stress) and to study the resulting structures (monobloc, multilayer, nanolayer, nanocomposite).
