Social farming is considered as an innovative solution, which is quite new in term of practice in many European countries. It is an ingenious solution that organizes agro economic resources at community level and brings environmental and social services for all small scale stakeholders. Farmer Field School (FFS) is also a similar idea which has been in practice for more than 30 years in the least developed and developing countries. It was introduced in early 1980s for integrated pest management (IPM) and since then is has been in practice in many countries covering a wide spectrum of farming practices.
The objective of proposed topic is to identify the key factors that directly or indirectly influence the Farmer Field School (FFS) approach acceptability, effectiveness and sustainability, to investigate its socio-economic benefits, to analyze its contribution to the SDGs, and finally to redesign the FFS model for developed country in view of the learnings from developing countries.
