Recently, Autonomous Vehicles (AVs) have reached a significant level of maturity and
development. Aiming to be safer for road users, among them cyclists, the implementation of
AVs in the transport system is facing various challenges. A common challenge is the interaction
between AVs and cyclists, however, few research have been conducted in that context. The
main goal of this research is to investigate the interaction between AVs and cyclists to
determine the impact of AVs-Cyclists interaction on cyclists’ safety. Therefore, it is valuable
to visualize different traffic flow scenarios to investigate the sensitivity of simulation
parameters. In this context, the study has to be carried out through a combination of several
microscopic traffic simulations assessed and evaluated using PTV VISSIM software and
surrogate safety analysis using the SSAM software.
