témakiírás leírása
The residual stress state that is induced by the machining processes plays important role in determining the service life of the machined component, depending on its magnitude and sign. As an example, the existence of tensile residual stresses will increase the chance of crack forming nucleation and propagation, leading to a reduction of the fatigue life, corrosion, and wear resistance. The final residual stress state in any machined component depends, mainly, on the material of that component and on the cutting and turning parameters that have been applied during the process, like cutting speed, cutting feed, tool nose radius, depth of cut, kind of cutting tool (geometry, coating of the tool, etc), wear of the tool, lubrication, etc. The research topic deals with the effect of the above mentioned parameters, especially in the case of hard-to-work materials. The research facility has a nationwide unique infrastructure for X-ray residual stress testing.
