The major challenge of the 21st century is to change the focus of health care. It has to focus more on patients, on sustainability and on promoting value-based approaches. The consumer society needs and the continuous growth in demand caused by the health sector is increasing cost rapidly. The health care system must see the entire spectrum from prevention to end-stage patients up to the whole society, with the goal of ensuring security and equal opportunity. New developments in technologies, such as therapeutic procedures, genomics and information technologies, are already available for health care, but without proper implementation the citizens who would benefit the most might not gain access to these. Due to the impact of the 2008 global financial crisis, these problems needs to be solved with the limited resources available, while also considering the potential pollution and other environmental damages. The announced topic will focus on the following issues:

-How to increase the value of health care?
-How to apply economic tools within the health sector?
-What are the most effective ways to implement personalized health?
-What is patient-centered health care and how can it be achieved?
-What can social and health policy makers do to preserve health?
