Description of the research topic:
Formulating mathematical models to describe the spatiotemporal patterns and the dynamics of the propagation of vector borne diseases. Modeling the transmission mechanism as well as the population dynamics of the host and vector species, including spatial dispersal and seasonality. Dyamics of adaptive host, vector and pathogen coevolution, modeling incubation periods with various distributions. Potential applications include West Nile virus, malaria, Lyme-disease, bluetongue disease etc.
