Description of the research topic:

The goal of the research is transforming programs between different representations like different programming languages. A widely known practical example is decompilation where machine code is transformed into a higher level language like C. Another example is synthesizing concrete programs from their high level specifications. During these transformations it's especially important to take the abstraction level of the source and target representations into account and
to preserve the correctness of the program.
