Description of the research topic:
Iron-cemented paleosols are widespread in the old Gondwanaland countries: Brazil, Africa, India, and Australia, but only sporadically in North America and Europe. They closely define geomorphic landscapes. It is often associated with the ferrallitic paleosols and sometimes with the latosol or lateritic soils. The topic is multidisciplinary covering the field of geochemistry, mineralogy, and sedimentology. The project focuses on the European ferricretes comparing with Gondwana-ones. This project is lab and field-based as well!
