Description of the research topic:

The classical institutions of legal liability in civil law and their functions have changed a lot in recent years. These changes and changes of function affect both the basis of liability (for example, fault, which is losing its importance, the development of the interrelationship between fault and imputability, the objectivisation of liability in the general sense) and the way of thinking about the extent of compensation (for example, the spread of the approach of foreseeability). The legal counterpoint of liability, immunity, is also disturbingly widespread in our daily lives. In the development of the regulation of liability law in Hungary, the impact of the development of EU law on the Hungarian legal system cannot be ignored (the institutional densification points of this tendency can be observed mainly in the development of Member States’ responsibility in the field of approximation of law duties, legislation, and judicial activities). Of course, research on these topics can only be thorough and successful in a well-founded context of legal history and comparative law. These are the dimensions that should be kept in mind primarily in the case of sub-researches carried out under the thematic scope of this PhD topic
