Development of a method for the design and deployment of next generation data engineering systems

THESIS TOPIC PROPOSAL

Institute: Eötvös Loránd University, Budapest
computer sciences
Doctoral School of Informatics

Thesis supervisor: Udo Bub
Location of studies (in Hungarian): Budapest, Lágymányos, ELTE North Bldg.
Abbreviation of location of studies: ELTE

Description of the research topic:

The future of data engineering will include new emphasis on solutions for sharing, automation, scaling, and real-time processing of data, and its integration with artificial intelligence. While new paradigms such as data mesh, data products, data contracts, and policy engines are emerging, little research has been done on how to seamlessly integrate and automize these concepts. In this thesis, these concepts will be further developed and scientifically embraced by the artifact type of a method that renders possible the design and deployment of upcoming data engineering systemes. The artifact will be derived scientifically using e.g. the Design Science Research (DSR) paradigm and its utility demonstrated in industrial use cases.

Required language skills: english
Further requirements:
MSc in Computer Science. Data Engineering experience, preferably in the Cloud.
