Description of the research topic:

The revival of the concept of geopolitics, dating back a hundred years, is generally accepted by geographers, military scientists, historians, natural and social scientists, political and economic analysts. The history of geopolitical, geostrategic thinking, the relationship between military science and geography, and its geopolitical context, understanding and exploring geopolitical theory and practice of geopolitics is particularly important in the 21st century.
The aim of the research is to analyze the different interpretations and conceptual explanations of geopolitics, the individual geopolitical schools (mainly Anglo-Saxon, Soviet-Russian, etc.), their development directions and their influence on the decisions of the political and military spheres.
In the course of the research, to examine the possible answers to the 21st century international, regional, local geopolitical and geostrategic challenges from the perspective of nation states, regional alliances (especially NATO, EU).
In addition to the complexity of the topic, the aim is to assess global and regional presence in terms of geopolitics, geostrategic considerations and to outline future trends.
