Description of the research topic:

The place and the role of books and libraries in the society of early modern Transylvania. On one hand, the topic researches the possibilities of reading and library use from the viewpoint of reading sociology. On the other hand, it is a comparative analysis of boarding school collections and private libraries, representative of the 17th and 18th centuries. The analysis is based on reconstructed archives, and it is an assessment of book demands, publishing, and purchasing opportunities.
