Beside the old loanwords of substratic origins, linguistic contacts have also been intensive in the modern periods as well. Today it is the language of Hungarians in the neighbouring countries that displays a vast number of elements coming from the majority’s Slavic languages (Slovak, Ukrainian, Serbian, Croatian and Slovenian).
