A kutatási téma leírása:

Modern production technologies are spreading more and more widely in the industry. Such modern technologies are additive manufacturing technologies. New technologies present new challenges to engineers. The results of the research would help practicing engineers overcome challenges during design. The research focuses on the fatigue and acoustic behavior of toothed elements.
During the research work, we plan to carry out the following important activities.
1. Literature and patent research related to the topic. Analysis of the results achieved so far, mapping of possible additive manufacturing processes.
2. Study of currently known fatigue processes. Systematization of the similarities and differences found between the fatigue characteristics of the parts produced in the traditional way and those produced with additive technology.
3. Exploiting the possibilities of additive manufacturing in case of special geometric design of toothed elements, both in terms of fatigue and acoustic behavior. Identification of missing design parameters.
4. Systematization, evaluation, and summary of the achieved results in the form of a design guide.
5. Continuous publication of the achieved results.
Research conditions:
In recent years, the Institute of Machine and Product Design of the University of Miskolc has conducted research on the technical properties of components created by additive manufacturing. The institute currently has four additive manufacturing equipment, which is an excellent basis for research. In addition, engineering and mathematical program systems are available, which can be used to support research work. In the Institute of Foundry at the Faculty of Materials and Chemical Engineering, metal-based additive technology is also available, which further expands research opportunities.
