A kutatási téma leírása:

Experimental examinations of flow around the unheated cylinder are made long time ago and results are showed by huge literature mass of facts. Examinations of the heated cylinder are made by many researchers. Object of present examination is also being one of this regions: in the wind tunnel, electrically heated cylinder is examined in parallel flow. The past in term our examinations were made by PIV technique and numeric simulation.
These researches are turned our attention to onto that behind a cylinder examination of break-away vortices are very interesting from that viewpoint, what the relationship between draw heat from cylinder and vortices. Experimental were made with a cylinder heated up onto different temperature and results were showed that breakaway vortices with nearly almost like periodicity heat extraction seriatim, it is being happened in the form of a heat package.
An idea of implementation at the Department of Fluid and Heat Engineering, the theoretical and experimental development of which can be used to create a process and a tool that can handle this task.
Steps of relevant research.
- Getting to know the theoretical basics of the heat wire measurement technique.
- Getting to know the CTA (Constant Temperature Anemometer) system and thermal camera.
- Elaboration of the realtime measurement technology solutions of the task, the preliminary determination of the relevant parameters with the help of thermal and electrical calculations.
- Construction of the experimental equipment.
- Development of the device on the experimental equipment.
- Performing the relevant measurements. Solution to the evaluation technique.
- Calibration of measurement results using CTA.
- Theoretical study of accompanying thermal and electrical phenomena and the development of a correction procedure based on this to clarify the measurement results.
- As an example of the application of the developed tool, designing a similar device in the section of the wind tunnel of the Department.
- Draw conclusions, formulate and document results.

Research conditions: The wind tunnel, CTA, PIV and thermovision measuring tools needed to research the topic are available to validate the measurement results, and the ANSYS-FLUENT software system provides the background for further calculations.

Industry Background: The characteristics of the flow in the energy systems (eg the flue gas channel of power plants) can be determined by numerical simulation or small sample measurements. The latter is helped by the tool to be designed.

Partial training abroad: During the research of the topic it is possible to join foreign research programs.
