Description of the research topic:
Shallow geological, geomorphological and environmental mapping developed parallel with GIS and geophysical techniques. Traditional drilling-based, field observation and mapping methods can be performed more efficiently and more precisely using the modern measurement methods. Information gathered by sparse sampling can be accurately expanded using geomorphometric analyses of an elevation model, processed remote sensing products and geophysic mapping. Hereby, quality of bounding landuse, geomorphic or geologic units can be enhanced and quantitative properties of the units can be defined. The study area and the used methodology can be chosen by the fellow, but basically tectonic geomorphology, fluvial morphology, temporal landuse changes and soil mapping are supported.
Required language skills: English Further requirements: Using essential tools in GIS software. Basic knowledge of geomorphology, shallow soft sediment geology and/or tectonic geomorphology.
