A kutatási téma leírása:
Lipid lowering therapy is one of the most important elements of cardiovascular prevention and its full advantage is not taken enough, the patients’ treatment, its intensity, the frequency of control are far from the guidelines. The lipid lowering drugs are not appropriately evaluated neither by the doctors, nor by the patients, and that is why only a small proportion of patients can attain the goal levels determined by the guidelines, especially in the very high risk category. Its exact reasons are not known, it may be explained partly with the attitude of the doctors and partly with the adherence of the patients. In addition to attainment of LDL-cholesterol as first goal, the attainment rate of non-HDL-cholesterol, triglycerides and HDL-cholesterol can be also the subject of a deeper analysation. The comparison of direct and calculated LDL-cholesterol values, the exploration of the regional differences on this field and the evaluation of the patients’ education level in their compliance would be important. It would be interesting to determine and compare patients’ adherence, their LDL-, non-HDL-, HDL-cholesterol and triglyceride goal level attainment in Pecs (as a university city) and Gyula (as a small town near the Romanian border at South-Eastern part of the country with a large hospital) using the health service database.
