Abbreviation of location of studies: DE

Description of the research topic:

Oats have lower prolamin content and better digestibility, and therefore lower allergenic potential compared to wheat prolamins. The protein composition of oats does not trigger an autoimmune reaction in most people with celiac disease.

Recent laboratory and clinical studies have shown that differences can occur based on certain oat genotypes and individual patient sensitivity. This suggests that there are oat varieties that contain protein sequences that may generate a greater or lesser immune response in some patients with celiac disease.

The objective of the research is to determine the oat genotypes that can be safely used in gluten-free diets and to investigate the effect of agrotechnical factors on plant physiological parameters, photosynthesis, yield and protein composition of oats.
