Description of the research topic:
The JavaScript language is traditionally used in web-applications development both on the client and, more recently, on the server side as well.
However, its popularity increases in other areas as well which might even be surprising at first, such as IoT devices.
The various properties of the language such as the lack of strict types and the dynamic properties makes the analysis of JavaScript programs difficult.
The traditional static and dynamic code analysis techiques are often unusable, for instance many dependences are undiscoverable by pure static analysis.
The task in this research topic is to investigate combined and hybrid code analysis techniques for JavaScript that would enable the more successful use of traditional code analysis applications such as dependence analysis, comprehension, vulnerability analysis, etc.
