Description of the research topic:

The economic progress and development of certain states show different evolution models. On one hand, there are market-based investments, which are made mainly by multinational companies based on the expectation of future profit. The structure of these investments is built from legal tools defined in the internal law of the affected state, therefore they can be described and handled with the classical legal terms, however international legal instruments can play a significant role.
On the other hand, after the 2nd World War, numerous international organisations and developments have been established, whose activity is not profit-oriented, but based on international agreements and long-term political and economical interests. The latter investments are not following the actual needs of supply and demand, but their main aim is to achieve longer-term goals of the state.
The research topic mainly focuses about the legal problem of the international investment models: Which international legal instrument can be effective? How can these instruments be described by the present legal tools? What kind of sanction-system could be created in case of breaching the contract?
