Description of the research topic:

The employees’ right to equal treatment is one of such fundamental interests that should be protected; the national legislators beyond the framework of international or European Union law typically regulate it. The sphere of anti-discrimination is rather wide, besides human rights, fundamental rights connected to employees’ legal protection, certain concrete very important areas of labour law also belong to it. Such areas are remuneration, establishing and terminating the employment relationship, and in general, working conditions. Consequently, the topic of research can be any regulative, jurisprudential or theoretical question regarding the Hungarian, EU law, or international aspect of equal employment. Researches combining practical and theoretical methodologies have a central role. Similarly, special attention can be paid to the possibilities of legal enforcement in case of violation of the principle, including the special burden of proof and the employer’s justification. The research possibilities are completed by the specialities of the definitions regarding equal employment – forms of discrimination, comparable situation, justified different treatment, etc. – and the ”equality” of the forms of employment.
