Description of the research topic:
Located at the intersection of social sciences and philosophy this research perspective relies on current approaches in bioethics to investigate contemporary ethical issues within biomedicine and health care. Patients’ rights, end-of-life decisions, biomedical research and the emergence of new technologies might pose a significant challenge on traditional legal and ethical thinking in a variety of ways. Methodological characteristics of this research: applying philosophical evaluation of concepts, legal and policy analyses, and also a variety of qualitative empirical methods, as interview techniques, focus groups, and survey based methodologies.
