Description of the research topic:
The manifold crisis of our time have made particularly acute the challenge of the shift of perspective worded decades ago that, while Luther and other 16th century Reformators where in search of a merciful God, we in the 20th century were looking for a merciful neighbor. Besides the theological examination of the possibility of life lived in mercy, it is unavoidable for us to involve the relevant results of contemporary sociology, psychology and political science. Our research tries not to loose contact with the wisdom of the past, however, focuses on our present times with greater attention
