Abbreviation of location of studies: SZTE

Description of the research topic:

Single-cell RNA sequencing (scRNA-seq) is a technology to collect mRNA expression data of singular cells at a singular time-point. By collecting data from a multitude of cells of varying cell types or conditions, we can create gene-expression matrices containing important genetic information. Over the past decade, the technology to collect and create these gene-expression matrices has greatly advanced. However, the bioinformatics tools to maximize the amount of scientific information that we can derive from this data are still being developed and improved, as there exists a need to customize the analysis pipeline for each question. The goal of this project is to develop and implement new bioinformatics pipelines for analysis of scRNA-seq data, and to use these pipelines to make novel discoveries both on newly collected, as well as pre-existing datasets.
