Description of the research topic:
Microscopy and fluorescece imaging have become the most popular tools to detect processes in neurobiology, cell biology. These techniques, however require fluorescent dyes and sensors to visualize the regions and processes of interest. The main aim of my PhD project is developing dyes and sensors, that exhibit advantageous properties, enabling their use in various field of two-photon (2P) microscopy. The project consists of theoretical develoment and design of the target compounds, the synthetic preparation of the desired novel molecules, the structure determination, spectroscopic characterization and in vitro application
