Abbreviation of location of studies: MATE

Description of the research topic:

A significant part of agricultural materials is harvested and processed in the form of granules. By optimizing these processes, significant loss reduction and quality improvement can be achieved. A key question is how we can understand the interaction between these materials and our equipment. Discrete element method (DEM) is a numerical method for computing the motion and interaction of a large number of small particles. DEM is an effective method of addressing engineering problems in granular and discontinuous materials, especially in granular flows, powder mechanics.

Free software resources are used for modeling purposes, and their configuration needs some programming knowledge. High level knowledge of advanced dynamics and computational modeling is also expected.
