Description of the research topic:
According to Cognitive Linguistics, metaphors are not ornaments of language, but a series of empirically motivated correspondences that can be systematized at the level of concepts, and as such, they are essential building blocks of human thinking and conceptualization. From this point of view, metaphorical thinking necessarily determines the concepts of any culture from the very specific level to the general, and on the other hand, it is reflected not only in language but also in other modalities. The main goal of the research is to enable a better understanding of the concepts of a given community through the exploration of linguistic and non-linguistic conceptual metaphors, and to make it comparable with other communities and cultures.
