Description of the research topic:

Since the 1980s the codified literary language and the non-codified spoken language have undergone intensive changes that are closely related to certain extralinguistic factors. Most of the changes take place in the vocabulary but they do not leave the morphological and syntactic system of the Russian language intact. Linguists need to radically rethink previous language norms. The changes that have taken place raise a number of questions about language correctness.
