Description of the research topic:

Obligatory and optional transfer operations in translation from IE languages into Hungarian and vica versa involve explicitation or implicitation. According to asymmetry hypothesis translators if they have a choice prefer explicitations and fail to perform possible impicitations which can lead to quasi-correctness of translated texts. Asymmetry hypothesis can be tested in different genres, language pairs, and directions.
