Description of the research topic:
Investigation of (preferably but not exclusively) one or more of the following issues in a formal framework, on the basis of data from the literature or collected by the applicant from one or more languages (experimentally or from corpora): i) semantic and pragmatic properties of natural language quantifiers, ii) issues in the interpretation of various sentence types (particularly interrogatives, exclamatives and imperatives), iii) modelling discourse structure, information structure, and rhetorical relations iv) the interpretation of pragmatic markers.
