The aim of the research is to explore conceptual metonymies in various languages in a cognitive linguistic theoretical framework from intercultural perspective with a special focus on detecting language- and culture-specific differences through the use of corpus-linguistic methods, a special emphasis being given to the investigation of intralingual variation
