Description of the research topic:
This doctoral research topic covers exploring the ways that students in schools and students in HEIs can participate in the life of their institution. What opportunities the legislation provides for this, and how it is implemented in practice? During the research, it can explore, how the solutions of each institution can be realised within the legal framework, but beyond the mandatory requirements, the possibilities offered to students and students according to local traditions (involvement, involvement) can be examined. The topic also covers the enforceability, enforcement of individual and collective rights, as well as the interpretation and scope of interest representation. The study reveals qualitative and quantitative ways of interpreting the institutional role of students (in all levels of education) by exploring the institution's leaders and staff (primarily teachers, trainers) and the relevant students through personal interviews and document analysis. (including legislation and institutional regulations), and its unregulated implementation, gaps, deficits, inconsistencies, double and multiple interpretations. It also offers the opportunity to discover and demonstrate local good practices and innovations.
