Description of the research topic:

The aim of the present project is the chemical characterisation of essential oils, gained from the plants by steam distillation. The qualitative and quantitative analysis of essential oil composition will be made by GC-MS and GC-FID. The essential oils and their components were analysed for antimicrobial effects against human pathogen microorganism. Synergistic or antagonistic effects of the compounds will also be studied, together with interactions between antibiotics and essential oil compounds.
