Description of the research topic:
In our research, we would like to identify the relevant environmental factors, which are responsible for the plant invasion (The first step of this study is to collect field, and remotely sensed data about the recent occurrence of the investigated plants at a different scales.
The main aim of our research - after monitoring and mapping of the occurrence of the most common alien species - is to analyze the environmental factors which are responsible for their spreading. Based on Machine Learning Methods, we will understand the main reasons for the recent dramatic spread of the most common invasive plant species. Furthermore, we will able to predict further potential habitats of the selected alien species. One of the biggest other research questions is to analyze the connections of the biological invasions and climate change in a given study area.
