Description of the research topic:
Convection is the major driving force to induce spatiotemporal pattern formation in nature.
Density changes due to chemical reaction or thermal effects may induce bouyancy at the reactive interfaces separating reactants from products.
During the experimental work, students will qualitatively and quantitatively characterize with imaging systems spatiotemporal pattern formation evolving in narrow channels.
