Description of the research topic:
The surface streams are more and more exposed to the effects of climate change, which is primarily indicated by the increasing frequency and duration of droughts. The research topic focuses on the impact of droughts on aquatic macroinvertebrate assemblages, and its main questions are: Is there a difference in the structure (taxonomic and functional composition) of intermittent and permanent watercourses within a catchment and between catchments? What are the factors that influence the organization of these metacommunities? What is the role of dispersal and environmental filtering in dynamics of metacommunities?
Recommended language skills (in Hungarian): English Further requirements: The topic requires both field sampling and laboratory work (sample selection, identification of taxa, and possibly preparation for molecular level processing), so experience in field work and basic taxonomic knowledge of aquatic macroinvertebrates is
