A kutatási téma leírása:

Servicing maintenance and mechanical diagnostic assume an increasing significance in every area of industry. The relevance of the subject is confirmed by the increasing complication of manufacturing equipment and the high maintenance costs associated with it. Maintenance costs can only be reduced by the application of advanced diagnostic methods.
In the operation of rolling bearings it is essential to know, analyze and follow the formation and development of bearing failures. The most effective way to do this is to use vibration diagnostics.
Vibration measurement can show up mechanical problems and harmful effects which act on the parts throughout the operating period of the machine. Identifying and eliminating these can significantly extend the lifetime of the machine, and forecasting faults can assure continuity of production.
The available diagnostic measurement methods (low, medium and high frequency testing) and evaluation techniques (time signal analysis, spectrum analysis, waterfall chart, correlation function-based signal analysis, etc.) nowadays enable the evaluation and analysis of information content based on experiments. As a result, we can draw conclusions about the life of rolling bearings.


Research Goals:

1. To work out of an optimum combination of various methods, available for measuring vibration of rolling element bearings in order to provide a reliable and effective prediction of the premature failure.
2. Design and construction of test equipment (or upgrading of the available laboratory machine) for the research of the vibrations of rolling bearings.
3. Performing experimental tests in the laboratory, using various methods and various equipment available.
4. Draw the conclusions by comparing experimental results (trends, time signals, vibration spectra, waterfall charts, palograms, etc.).
