Description of the research topic:
The PhD topic studies the multifactorial role of lifestyle and environmental xenobiotics in the development of chronic non-infectious diseases (e.g. cancer, diabetes, obesity etc.) or in case of pathologic health situations (e.g. preterm birth, infertility). From the lifestyle factors, mainly nutritional habits are emphasized; and among the environmental xenobiotics especially the per os exposed substances are focused on. In connection to the latter, the consumption habits of natural products and dietary supplements, and their preventive or risk rising effects are going to be revealed. The risk groups will be studied mainly by questionnaires.
