Description of the research topic:
The food trade of the World has grown dynamically over the past decades. This trend is likely to continue in the near future. The analysis and evaluation of external trade processes of the agri-food products therefore have a paramount importance. The international competitiveness is one of the most important investigation area of the economic research. Trade analysis is now closely linked to competitiveness testing, so it is also worth exploring the competitive position of individual products (product groups). The development of international trade and competitiveness of agricultural and food products is significantly influenced by government interventions. The subject of investigations is how the various agricultural and trade policy instruments influence the international trade. The study of intra-industrial food trade - primarily in relation to the countries of the European Union - is the subject of further research.
