Description of the research topic:

The fight against pathogenic microbes is now taking place on several fronts. The growing prevalence of antibiotic resistance contributes greatly to the dramatic increase in hospital deaths. In parallel, there is a growing demand for novel methods and new antimicrobial agents. In the framework of the PhD topic, new antimicrobial agents are investigated and the mechanisms of known agents against bacterial and viral infectious diseases are investigated using conventional microbiological and modern molecular biological tools.
